Il Cantiere Nautico Cranchi ® S.p.a was born on the shores of Lake Como, by its founder Giovanni CRANCHI. San Giovanni di Bellagio, his native country, the enterprising John opens his "shop" around the year 1866, although the true founding date of his craft is fixed at 1870 when it came to pass the registration. Originally the activities consisted in making boats, on Commission, for fishermen and for the carriage of goods and passengers. In the late 1800s, Lake Como was characterized by the existence of a multitude of activities related to nautics, since at that time there were no roads or vehicles. The intermingling of different types of traffic to the merchant, seaman-military and later tourism-you could notice a slow comings and goings of boats of all kinds in a body of water which then was definitely "lived" in a more intense than at our days
